Why I Do This and How I Can Help

Food has always been my passion, but for years, I was caught up in the high-pressure world of professional kitchens—restaurants, catering, the chaos, the mayhem. I learned so much, but in the relentless pace of that world, I lost the deeper connection to why I fell in love with food in the first place—the ability to heal, nourish, and bring comfort.

I found my way back.

Stepping away from the insane culinary grind gave me space to reconnect with the kind of cooking that truly fuels me—the kind that supports wellness, recovery, and deep nourishment. But something was still missing. I needed to feel rooted again, to reconnect with the rhythms of nature, the seasons, and the deeper meaning behind food.

That’s when I turned to the garden.

Growing my own food became an unexpectedly powerful part of my healing journey. Gardening grounded me, reconnected me to the seasons, the land, and the nurturing process of growing something from seed to table. It reminded me that food isn’t just about what’s on the plate—it’s about the entire cycle of cultivation, care, and connection.

And then, life nudged me toward the work I was truly meant to do.

In the span of just a few days, three incredible women—each playing a pivotal role in my life—asked me the same powerful question:

"Have you ever thought about cooking for people navigating cancer?"

One was one of my dearest, closest friends, who knows me at my core. Another was my chiropractor and healer, someone who has guided me through my own wellness journey. The third was a very influential woman in my life, who is a highly respected Naturopathic Doctor specializing in supporting those facing cancer.

It was like the universe had been waiting for me to see it. This. This is how I can use my skills to make a real difference.

Cancer has left its mark on my life—my first Bonus Dad (stepdad) passed from colon cancer, and my mother-in-law’s life was cut far too short by the same devastating disease. I’ve watched close family, relatives, and dear friends face different types of cancer and other serious diagnoses. It touches everyone. And after everything I’ve seen, I know—what we eat matters.

That’s why I created Nourish to Thrive—to help people navigating cancer, autoimmune conditions, and other health challenges access meals that truly support healing. I don’t just cook food—I craft nutrient-dense, comforting, deeply nourishing meals tailored to each person’s needs. And through my garden consulting, I help others experience the grounding, restorative power of growing their own food—because nourishment starts long before the plate.

💬 If my story speaks to you, let’s connect. I’d love to support your journey.
